Mani Monday: OPI Just Lanai-ing Around

This color is vaguely 80's and 90's reminiscent. I think I wore a similar shade at my wedding. And the ring? Another Old Navy find.

This week I decided to try to Essie Gel-setter top coat with an OPI polish and see if it worked as well (or better) at creating that gel-like finish and staying power.  I actually found that this week’s manicure lasted even longer than last week’s!  That may be due to the fact that I spent Monday and Tuesday doing nothing but sitting in meetings.  But still.

Here it is after 24 hours of wear.

24 hours in, and we're still good!

See any chips?  Me neither.  This impressed me.

And here is after 48 hours.

End of day two. Tiny chip. Very happy so far.

One tiny chip on the index finger.  This nail has a tendency to split badly in this very spot, so if my polish is going to chip anywhere, this is a normal spot.  I’m still impressed.

I did start touching up on day three, so I stopped photographing (for science).  But mostly it was tip wear and a couple tiny chips I was covering.  Overall I was very pleased with how well this combo held up.

I’m giving this combo 4 1/2 sparkles on my completely made up scale of five sparkles.
