The Black and White of It

Move along. There’s nothing to see here.
Move along. There’s nothing to see here.

Daisy and Rudy get most of the attention around here, but you should know that these two live here as well.  The charming tuxedo kitty is Charlie.  The white and grey one is Beavis.  It truly is a shame they don’t get along.

Beavis showed up at my house years ago and refused to leave.  I didn’t feed him.  The neighbor did feed him.  He chose me.  Or maybe he chose Daisy.  He was “her” cat for a long time.  I named him Beavis one day when he was being particularly obnoxious, climbing screens and yowling.  I hollered out at him, “Settle down, Beavis!”  It stuck.  I can’t imagine him being anyone but Beavis now.

Charlie kind of found me as well.  Or rather, a friend found him meowing loudly one cold and rainy night outside a convenience store and called me.  I think Charlie knew I was on the phone and started squalling more loudly and cutely until I gave in and said, “Okay, bring me the cat.”  He was such an adorable kitten and I fell for him immediately.  He went through a rough adolescent phase where he was kind of a jerk, but he’s calmed down considerably now.

They don’t much like Rudy, but that’s a post for another day!
